^Including one vacant seat in Clowne West ward previously held by independent councillor Dan Salt until his removal from the council in December 2022 for non-attendance.^[1] Of the independent councillors, nine sat together as the "Independent Group" led by Deborah Watson, three formed the "Community Independents" led by Ross Walker (which group had also included Dan Salt prior to his removal) and one councillor was not aligned to any group.^[2]
