The2023–24 season was the 158th season in the history ofNottingham Forest and their second consecutive season in thePremier League. The club also competed in theFA Cup and theEFL Cup.

On 15 January 2024, the Premier League charged Nottingham Forest for breaching the league'sprofit and sustainability rules.[2] On 18 March, Forest were found guilty and were deducted four points,[3] with the club appealing the decision on 26 March.[4] On 7 May, it was announced that Forest had failed in their appeal, and their four point deduction was upheld.[5]

Forest secured their Premier League status on the final day of the season, following a 2–1 victory away toBurnley.[6] Forest finished the season with 32 points, breaking the previous record for the lowest points tally of any surviving Premier League team set byWest Bromwich Albion in the2004–05 season, with 34.[7]

Pre-season and friendlies

On 29 May, Forest announced their first pre-season friendly, againstNotts County.[111] A week later, a trip toNetherlands to facePSV Eindhoven was also confirmed.[112] On 14 June, two more friendlies against European sidesRennes andEintracht Frankfurt were also added.[113] Twobehind-closed-doors in Spain were next to be confirmed, againstValencia andLevante.[114]
