The year2022 was the eighth year in the history of theRizin Fighting Federation, amixed martial arts promotion based inJapan.
Rizin events were broadcast through a television agreement withFuji Television. However, due to several controversies, the promotion would be dropped by the network by May of that year.[1][2] Rizin would since begin broadcasting on events via PPV on their new streaming service, RIZIN STREAM PASS, and various other streaming platforms in Japan.[3]
In North America and Europe, Rizin events were available via PPV onLIVENow.[4] Starting withSuper Rizin & Rizin 38 in 2022,[5][6] Integrated Sports would produce English-language PPVs of Rizin events forFITE.[7]
Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced that Rizin is planning to work in co-promotion withK-1 andRISE to hold an event headlined by betweenTenshin Nasukawa and Takeru Segawa. Known asTHE MATCH 2022, the event would be held on June 19, 2022.

Super Rizin & Rizin 38 was acombat sport event held byRizin Fighting Federation in partnership withThe Money Team on September 25, 2022, at theSaitama Super Arena inJapan.[30] The event was split into two parts: Super Rizin, which catered to foreign audiences, and Rizin 38, which began five hours later. Both cards were broadcast by Rizin Stream Pass andAbema in Japan.[31]
Outside of Japan, Integrated Sports produced English-language PPVs of both cards forFITE. They were the first RIZIN events to be distributed on FITE sinceRizin 23 &Rizin 22 in 2020.
The event was headlined by anexhibition boxing match betweenFloyd Mayweather Jr. and Japanese mixed martial artist andYouTuberMikuru Asakura.[30]
The2021 Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix winnerHiromasa Ougikubo faced currentRoad FC Featherweight champion (also formerONE Bantamweight World Champion) Soo Chul Kim in a bantamweight non-title bout.[32]
TheRizin Super Atomweight Grand Prix Semifinals bouts took place during the event, which sawSi Woo Park faceAyaka Hamasaki andSeika Izawa face Anastasiya Svetkivska. Izawa was originally expected to faceRena Kubota, who was forced to withdraw due to injury.[14]
