The2022 Croatia Rally (also known as theRally Croatia 2022) was amotor racing event forrally cars that was held over four days between 21 and 24 April 2022.[2] It marked the 46th running of theCroatia Rally, and was the third round of the2022 World Rally Championship,World Rally Championship-2 andWorld Rally Championship-3. The 2022 event was based inZagreb inCentral Croatia and was contested over 20special stages, covering a total competitive distance of 291.84 km (181.34 mi).[1]
Sébastien Ogier andJulien Ingrassia were the defending rally winners.[3] However, they did not complete to defend their title as Ogier undertook a partial program in 2022 and Ingrassia retired from the sport at the end of2021 season.[4]Mads Østberg andTorstein Eriksen were the defending rally winners in the WRC-2 category.[5]Kajetan Kajetanowicz andMaciej Szczepaniak were the defending rally winners in the WRC-3 category,[6] with the British crew ofJon Armstrong andPhil Hall were the defending title-holders in the junior class.[7]
Kalle Rovanperä andJonne Halttunen won a back-to-back victory. Their team,Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, successfully defended their title.[8]Yohan Rossel andValentin Sarreaud won the World Rally Championship-2 category.[9]Zoltán László andTamás Kürti won the World Rally Championship-3 category,[10] while the Finnish crew of theLauri Joona andMikael Korhonen won the junior class.[11]
The following crews are set to enter into the rally. The event will be opened to crews competing in the World Rally Championship, its support categories, the World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3, andprivateer entries that are not registered to score points in any championship. Eleven crews were entered underRally1 regulations, as are twenty-nineRally2 crews in the World Rally Championship-2 and elevenRally3 crews in the World Rally Championship-3.[12][13]
