The2023 SA20 orSA20 Season 1 (also known asBetway SA20 2023 for sponsorship reasons) was the inaugural season of theSA20, a franchiseTwenty20 cricket league in South Africa,[1] organised byCricket South Africa (CSA). The tournament was played from 10 January to 12 February 2023.[2][3]SuperSport,Sky Sports and theSports18 network broadcast the tournament in South Africa, the United Kingdom and India respectively.
In the final,Sunrisers Eastern Cape defeatedPretoria Capitals by four wickets to win the inaugural title under Aiden Markram's captaincy.
The player auction took place on 19 September 2022.[4]
