The2022–23 Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team represented TheOhio State University in the2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach wasChris Holtmann, who was in his sixth season with the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes played their home games atValue City Arena inColumbus, Ohio as members of theBig Ten Conference. They finished the season 16–19, 5–15 inBig Ten play to finish in 13th place. They defeatedWisconsin,Iowa, andMichigan State in theBig Ten tournament to advance to the semifinals. There they lost toPurdue.
TheBuckeyes finished the2021–22 season 20–12, 12–8 inBig Ten play to finish a three-way tie for fifth place. As the No. 6 seed in theBig Ten tournament, they lost toPenn State in the quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to theNCAA tournament as the No. 7 seed in the South region where they defeated inLoyola in the First Round before losing toVillanova in the Second Round.
