Jeļena Ostapenko defeatedAnett Kontaveit in the final, 6–3, 6–3, to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Eastbourne International. By winning her fourth careerWTA Tour singles title, Ostapenko became the tournament's third wildcard champion, followingMonica Seles (1996) andJulie Halard-Decugis (2000).[1]
Karolína Plíšková was the defending champion from when the event was last held in2019,[2] but she lost in the first round toCamila Giorgi.[3] As a result, Plíšková exited the top 10 of theWTA rankings for the first time since September 2016.[4]
