The2020 Coupe de France final was afootball match betweenParis Saint-Germain andSaint-Étienne to decide the winner of the2019–20 Coupe de France, the 103rd season of theCoupe de France. The final was originally scheduled for 25 April, but was postponed to 24 July due to concerns over theCOVID-19 pandemic in France.[2][3]

On 28 April 2020, Prime MinisterÉdouard Philippe announced all sporting events in France, including those behind closed doors, would be banned until September.[4] The FFF were considering whether the final of the Coupe de France could be rescheduled for when events are allowed to restart.[5] On 26 June, the FFF announced that the final was rescheduled to 24 July.[1]

Paris Saint-Germain won the final 1–0 for their 13th Coupe de France title.[6][7]

Background

Paris Saint-Germain were the runners-up of last year's edition, having lost the2019 final toRennes after apenalty shoot-out following a 2–2 draw inextra time.[8][9]

Saint-Étienne reached the final this year, having lost at theround of 32 of last year's edition toDijon.[10] This was the first time they reached the final since1982, a game they lost to Paris Saint-Germain as well.[11][12]

  • 30 minutes ofextra time if necessary.
  • Penalty shoot-out if scores still level.
  • Nine named substitutes.
  • Maximum of five substitutions, with a sixth allowed in extra time.[note 2]
