The2019 J3 League, referred to as the2019Meiji Yasuda J3 League (Japanese:2019 明治安田生命J3リーグ,Hepburn:2019 Meiji Yasuda Seimei J3 Rīgu) for sponsorship reasons, was the sixth season ofJ3 League under its current name.

The2018 season saw two teams promoted toJ2 League:FC Ryukyu won the championship by nine points over second-placedKagoshima United FC, who confirmed their promotion to the2019 J2 League season with still one game remianing. From thesecond division, there was a double automatic relegation for the first time:Kamatamare Sanuki returned to the third tier after five seasons, but they were promoted in 2013 fromJapan Football League, whenJ3 League was planned.[1] The same goes forRoasso Kumamoto, who returned to the third level of Japanese football after more than a decade.

Also, Japan Football League saw the promotion ofVanraure Hachinohe, who came third inJFL and they booked their first professional season in club history.
