Proposition 3, also known asProp 3 orWater Infrastructure and Watershed Conservation Bond Initiative, was aCalifornia ballot proposition intended to approve $8.877 billion worth ofgeneral obligation bonds for habitat protection measures, water supply projects, groundwater related projects, fishery related projects and other water conserveration projects. It failed in the November2018 California elections.[1]
The major campaign in support of the proposition was led by Californians for Safe Drinking Water and a Clean and Reliable Water Supply.[2] Supporters of the proposition included SenatorDianne Feinstein, RepresentativeJim Costa, RepresentativeJohn Garamendi, the Agricultural Council of California, theNational Audubon Society and theNational Wildlife Federation.[3] Opponents of the proposition included theSierra Club,[4]Anthony Rendon, the Southern California Watershed Alliance,Friends of the River, theLeague of Women Voters of California and Save the American River Association.[1]
