The 2017Sea Eagles was coached by formerAustralian internationalTrent Barrett. With the retirement of long time captainJamie Lyon, the team captain wasDaly Cherry-Evans withJake Trbojevic named as vice-captain. The club competed in theNational Rugby League's2017 Telstra Premiership and played its home games at the 23,000 capacityBrookvale Oval, which for the first time was known asLottoland due to a sponsorship agreement.
