The2017–18 season is Dundee United's 109th season, having been founded as Dundee Hibernian in 1909. It is their second season in theScottish Championship, having been relegated from theScottish Premiership at the end of the2015–16 season.[1] United will also compete in theChallenge Cup,League Cup andScottish Cup.

Management

United began the season under the management ofRay McKinnon, who has signed a three-year contract the previous season.[2] On 24 October 2017, following two consecutive defeats,[3] McKinnon left his position with immediate effect.[4] Assistant managerLaurie Ellis became caretaker manager.[5] On 8 November, United appointed formerHeart of Midlothian managerCsaba László as manager on an 18 month contract.[6] Ellis continued as assistant manager.[7]
