The Scarlet Knights played their home games atHigh Point Solutions Stadium inPiscataway, New Jersey in their inaugural year as a member of theBig Ten Conference,[1] having played the previous year in theAmerican Athletic Conference. They were led by third year head coachKyle Flood. They finished the season 8–5, 3–5 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for fourth place in the East Division. They were invited to theQuick Lane Bowl where they defeated North Carolina.
