The2014 CIS football season began on September 1, 2014 with tenOntario University Athletics teams playing that day.[1] The season concluded on November 29 with the50th Vanier Cup championship atMolson Stadium inMontreal.[2][3] This year, 27universityteams inCanada are scheduled to playCanadian Interuniversity Sport football, the highest level ofamateurCanadian football.

The Vanier Cup is played between the champions of theMitchell Bowl and theUteck Bowl, the national semi-final games. In 2014, according to the rotating schedule, the Atlantic conferenceLoney Bowl champions will visit the Ontario conference'sYates Cup champion for the Mitchell Bowl. The winners of the Canada West conferenceHardy Trophy will visit theDunsmore Cup Quebec championship team for the Uteck Bowl.[16]
