The2014–15 Regionalliga was the seventh season of theRegionalliga, the third under the new format, as the fourth tier of theGermanfootballleague system. The champions ofRegionalliga WestFortuna Köln – and the winner –SG Sonnenhof Großaspach – and third-placed team -FSV Mainz 05 II - of theRegionalliga Südwest were promoted to the3. Liga.SV Elversberg,Wacker Burghausen andSaarbrücken were relegated from 3. Liga.

Regionalliga Nord

18 teams from the states ofBremen,Hamburg,Lower Saxony andSchleswig-Holstein competed in the third season of the reformedRegionalliga Nord. 15 teams were retained from thelast season and 3 teams were promoted from theOberligaNiedersachsenliga championsLüneburger SK Hansa and the two Regionalliga North promotion playoff winnersVfB Lübeck andFT Braunschweig.

Regionalliga Nordost

16 teams from the states ofBerlin,Brandenburg,Mecklenburg-Vorpommern,Saxony,Saxony-Anhalt andThuringia competed in the third season of the reformedRegionalliga Nordost. 13 teams were retained from thelast season and 2 teams that were promoted from theOberliga.BFC Dynamo qualified by winningNOFV-Oberliga Nord andBautzen qualified by winningNOFV-Oberliga Süd.

Notes:
  1. ^Union Berlin folded their under-23 team at the end of this season, so no team was relegated. The league expanded to 18 teams next season.[1]
  2. ^On 1 January 2015, insolvency proceedings were opened against VFC Plauen.[2] Subsequently, they were placed into administration and all their results and records were expunged.[3][4][5][6]

Regionalliga West

18 teams fromNorth Rhine-Westphalia competed in the third season of the reformedRegionalliga West: 15 teams were retained from thelast season.FC Kray wonOberliga Niederrhein andHennef theOberliga Mittelrhein.Rödinghausen placed second in theOberliga Westfalen althoughArminia Bielefeld II won the competition but was unable to be promoted as thefirst team played in the3. Liga.

18 teams fromBaden-Württemberg,Hesse,Rhineland-Palatinate andSaarland competed in the third season of theRegionalliga Südwest.Elversberg andSaarbrücken relegated from the3. Liga. 13 teams were retained fromlast season and 3 teams were promoted from theOberliga:Astoria Walldorf won theOberliga Baden-Württemberg andPirmasens won theOberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar. As no team from theHessenliga applied for a licence, the second-placed teams of the other Oberligas had a play-off match which was won byNöttingen.

Promotion play-offs

The draw for the 2014–15 promotion play-offs was held on 12 April,[8] with another draw between the Regionalliga Südwest teams held on 2 May 2015.[9]
