The 17th annualWebby Awards for 2013 was held at theHammerstein Ballroom in New York City on May 22, 2013, hosted by comedianPatton Oswalt.[1][2] It was streamed live at www.webbyawards.com.
The Lifetime Achievement award was presented toSteve Wilhite, inventor of theGIF file format.[3] The viral Australian public service campaignDumb Ways to Die led the other nominees for total number of awards received,[2] andThe Onion achieved a record 19th win.[2][4]
