The2013 American Le Mans Series Monterey was anauto racing event held atMazda Raceway Laguna Seca, nearMonterey, California on May 9–11, 2013. The four-hour race was the third round of the2013 American Le Mans Series season. GermansKlaus Graf andLucas Luhr defended their 2012 Monterey win with overall victory forMuscle Milk Pickett Racing, while Luhr became the winningest driver in American Le Mans Series history.[1]Scott Tucker andMarino Franchitti took P2 honors forLevel 5 Motorsports, while Mike Gausch andLuis Díaz won the PC category.Corvette Racing'sJan Magnussen andAntonio García led GT and Henrique Cisneros, Jr. andNick Tandy won in GTC.

American Le Mans Series (ALMS) president Scott Atherton confirmed the race was part of the schedule for the2013 American Le Mans Series schedule in October 2012.[2] It was the fifteenth consecutive year the event was held as part of the American Le Mans Series. The 2013 American Le Mans Monterey was the third of ten scheduled sports car races of2013 American Le Mans Series. The event was held at the eleven-turn 2.238 mi (3.602 km)Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca inMonterey County, California on May 11, 2013.[3] The event was shortened from 6 hours to 4 hours.[3]

Before the race,Nick Heidfeld andNeel Jani led the P1 Drivers' Championship with 40 points, ahead ofKlaus Graf andLucas Luhr on countback with 40 points.[4] With 92 points,Ryan Briscoe andScott Tucker led the P2 Drivers' Championship overMarino Franchitti by 3 points.[4] In PC, Mike Guasch led the Drivers' Championship with 40 points, ahead ofColin Braun.[4]Oliver Gavin andTommy Milner led the GT Drivers' Championship with 34 points, ahead ofBill Auberlen andMaxime Martin on countback.[4] With 37 points, Henrique Cisneros andSean Edwards led the GTC Drivers' Championship, ahead ofNelson Canache Jr. andSpencer Pumpelly.[4]
