The2013–14 Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team represented theUniversity of Wisconsin–Madison in the2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This wasBo Ryan's 13th season as head coach at Wisconsin. The team played their home games at theKohl Center inMadison, Wisconsin and were members of theBig Ten Conference. They finished the season 30–8, 12–6 inBig Ten play to finish in a tie for second place. They lost in the semifinals in theBig Ten tournament toMichigan State. They received at-large bid to theNCAA tournament as a No. 2 seed in the West region, their 16th straight trip to the Tournament. They defeatedAmerican andOregon to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. They defeatedBaylor andArizona to advance to the Final Four. There, they were eliminated byKentucky.

Previous season

TheBadgers finished the2012–13 season 23–12, 12–6 inBig Ten play to finish in a tie for fourth place. They defeatedMichigan andIndiana before losing toOhio State in theBig Ten tournament championship. They received an at-large bid to theNCAA tournament for the 15th consecutive year as a No. 5 seed. They were upset by No. 12-seededOle Miss in the Second Round.

Records and milestones

  • On November 19, 2013,Frank Kaminsky broke the Wisconsin's single-game record for most points, with 43 againstNorth Dakota.
  • On December 4, 2013,Bo Ryan won his 300th game at Wisconsin during a 48–38 victory overVirginia. Ryan became only the 9th Big Ten head coach to win 300 games.
  • On January 8, 2014, Wisconsin defeatedIllinois 95–70 giving the Badgers a 16–0 record, the best start in the school's history.
  • On March 14, 2014, Wisconsin defeatedMinnesota 83–57 giving coach Bo Ryan his 700th career victory as a head coach.
  • On March 22, 2014,Ben Brust broke the record for most career three-pointers with his 228th vs. theOregon during an 85–77 victory in the third round of the2014 NCAA tournament. The previous record was held by Tim Locom (1988–91).
  • On March 29, 2014, Wisconsin defeatedArizona 64–63 to qualify for the NCAA Final Four for the third time in school history, its first since the2000 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament
