The2012Sudanese coup attempt was acoup d'état attempt on 22 November 2012 inSudan against presidentOmar al-Bashir, who took power in the1989 Sudanese coup d'état. It started as an attempt to overthrow the government over serious conflicts, upheavals (mainly the2011–2013 Sudanese protests) and worsening conditions. According to the media, 13 were arrested during the coup attempt,[1][2] including former Director of theNational Intelligence and Security ServiceSalah Gosh.[3]
