Aftermath

After the election, on 12 March 2012,Nayyar Hussain Bukhari of the rulingPakistan People's Party (PPP) was elected to the position ofChairman unopposed. On the same day,Sabir Ali Baloch, also of the PPP, elected to the position ofDeputy Chairman unopposed. They replacedFarooq Naek of the PPP andJan Mohammad Jamali of thePakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML(Q)), respectively. Moreover, on 27 April 2012,Jehangir Bader of the PPP succeeded Bukhari as theLeader of the House, and on 15 March 2012,Ishaq Dar of thePakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) became the Leader of the Opposition, succeedingAbdul Ghafoor Haideri of theJamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F).[3][4][5]
