• 9 January – The nineteenth finale of theGreat Orchestra of Christmas Charity.^[2]
• 10 January – A testHD version ofTVP1 is launched, namedTVP1 HD.
• 31 January –President of PolandBronislaw Komorowski signed a law introducing a 35 percent quota forelectoral lists.
