The2010 Sioux Falls mayoral election took place on April 27, 2010, following a primary election on April 13, 2010. Incumbent MayorDave Munson was term-limited and could not run for a third consecutive term. Six candidates ran to succeed him, with City CouncilmemberKermit Staggers narrowly placing first in the primary with 24.9 percent of the vote, followed by former bank executiveMike Huether, who won 24.7 percent. In the ensuing general election, Huether defeated Staggers by a wide margin, winning his first term, 57–43 percent.
