The2010–11Kategoria Superiore was the 72nd official season, or the 75th season of top-tier football inAlbania (including three unofficial championships of WW2[1]) and the thirteenth season under the nameKategoria Superiore. The season began on 21 August 2010 and ended on 16 May 2011.[citation needed]Dinamo Tirana were the defending champions, having won their 18th Albanian championshiplast season.
The championship was won bySkënderbeu, withFlamurtari andVllaznia finishing second and third, respectively. On the bottom end of the table,Besa andElbasani were directly relegated, whileShkumbini andDinamo Tirana had to compete in therelegation playoffs.
Apolonia Fier andGramozi were directly relegated to theKategoria e Parë after finishing 11th and 12th inthe previous year's standings. They are replaced by Kategoria e Parë championsBylis and runners-upElbasani.
9th placedKastrioti and 10th placedSkënderbeu had to compete in single-match relegation play-offs. Kastrioti played against Kategoria e Parë fourth-placed clubLushnja, while Skënderbeu played against Kategoria e Parë third-placed clubKamza. Both Kastrioti and Skënderbeu won their matches 1–0 and retained their places in the league.
