Aby-election was held on 25 August 2009 for thePenang State Legislative Assembly seat ofPermatang Pasir.[1] The seat fell vacant after the death of the incumbent assemblyman, Mohd Hamdan Abdul Rahman.[2]
Mohd Salleh Man got 9,618 votes, beating Rohaizat Othman who got 5,067 votes.[3]
