The Football League 2009–10 (calledCoca-Cola Football League for sponsorship reasons), was the seventeenth season under its current league division format. It began in August 2009 and ended on 8 May 2010.

The Football League is contested through three divisions. The second division of these isLeague One.Norwich City andLeeds United were automatically promoted to theFootball League Championship as winners and runners-up respectively, and they were joined by the winner of the League One play-offsMillwall. The bottom four teams in the league were relegated to the third division,League Two.

Notes:
  1. ^Southampton were given a ten-point deduction for breaching insolvency regulations, regarding their holding company. As they finished in the bottom three last season, the points deduction were applied in the 2009–10 season.[2]
  2. ^Hartlepool deducted 3 points for fielding an ineligible player.[3]
