The2008 Washington Secretary of State election was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, to elect theWashington Secretary of State, concurrently with the2008 U.S. presidential election, as well aselections to theU.S. Senate and variousstate and local elections, including forU.S. House andgovernor of Washington. Washington is one of two states that holds atop-two primary, meaning that all candidates are listed on the same ballot regardless of party affiliation, and the top two move on to the general election.

IncumbentRepublican Secretary of StateSam Reed was re-elected to a third term in office, defeatedDemocratic challenger Jason Osgood in a landslide.[1] As of 2025, this is the last time a Republican won the Secretary of State position by over 10%.
