The2008 UMass Minutemen football team represented theUniversity of Massachusetts Amherst in the2008 NCAA Division I FCS football season as a member of theColonial Athletic Association. The team was coached byDon Brown and returned eight of 11 starters from the previous season.^[1] The Minutemen finished the season with a record of 7–5 (4–4 CAA), missing theplayoffs for the first time since 2005.

The team played its home games atWarren McGuirk Alumni Stadium inHadley, Massachusetts. The 2008 season was Brown's last as head coach of the Minutemen. He left the position the following season to become thedefensive coordinator atMaryland.
