The2008 Taça de Portugal final was the final match of the2007–08 Taça de Portugal, the 68th season of theTaça de Portugal, the premier Portuguesefootball cup competition organized by thePortuguese Football Federation (FPF). The match was played on 18 May 2008 at theEstádio Nacional inOeiras, and opposed twoPrimeira Liga sides:Porto andSporting CP. Sporting CP defeated Porto 2–0, thanks to two extra-time goals from Brazilian strikerRodrigo Tiuí which would give Sporting CP their fifteenth Taça de Portugal.[3][4]
InPortugal, the final was televised live inHD onSIC andSport TV. As Sporting CP claimed their fifteenth Taça de Portugal, they qualified for the2008 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, where they took on the winners of the2007–08 Primeira Liga,Porto at theEstádio Algarve.[5][6]
