The2008Skate America was the first event of six in the2008–09 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at theComcast Arena at Everett inEverett, Washington on October 23–26. Medals were awarded in the disciplines ofmen's singles, ladies' singles,pair skating, andice dancing. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the2008–09 Grand Prix Final. Thecompulsory dance was the Viennese Waltz.
The event drew 39,000 total spectators.[1]
