The2008 Missouri State Treasurer election was held on 4 November 2008 in order to elect thestate treasurer of Missouri.Democratic nominee andincumbent member of theMissouri House of RepresentativesClint Zweifel defeatedRepublican nominee and incumbent member of theMissouri SenateBrad Lager andConstitution nominee Rodney D. Farthing.[1]
On election day, 4 November 2008,Democratic nomineeClint Zweifel won the election by a margin of 92,002 votes against his foremost opponentRepublican nomineeBrad Lager, thereby gaining Democratic control over the office of state treasurer. Zweifel was sworn in as the 45thstate treasurer of Missouri on 12 January 2009.[2]
