The2008 Missouri Secretary of State election was held on 4 November 2008 in order to elect thesecretary of state of Missouri.Democratic nominee andincumbent secretary of stateRobin Carnahan defeatedRepublican nominee Mitchell Hubbard,Libertarian nominee Wes Upchurch andConstitution nominee Denise C. Neely.[1]
On election day, 4 November 2008,Democratic nomineeRobin Carnahan won re-election by a margin of 743,064 votes against her foremost opponentRepublican nominee Mitchell Hubbard, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of secretary of state. Carnahan was sworn in for her second term on 12 January 2009.[2]
