The2008 MLS SuperDraft took place on January 18, 2008 inBaltimore, Maryland. It was the ninth annualMajor League SoccerSuperDraft. The first selection was made by theKansas City Wizards, after acquiring the selection from the expansionSan Jose Earthquakes. It was followed by theSupplemental Draft.

Player selection

FC Dallas selectedBrek Shea 2nd overall. In 2011, Shea was named anMLS All-Star and selected to theMLS Best XI. He earned 34 caps with theU.S. men's national team.
Real Salt Lake selectedTony Beltran 3rd overall. He was anMLS All-Star in2013 and2015.
TheLA Galaxy selectedSean Franklin 4th overall. The2008MLS Rookie of the Year is a 2xMLS All-Star.
