The2006 North Carolina Senate election was held on November 7, 2006, to elect members to all fifty seats in theNorth Carolina Senate. The election coincided with the elections for other offices, including theU.S. House of Representatives andstate house. Theprimary election was held on May 2, 2006, with primary run-offs occurring on May 30 and September 12, 2006. TheDemocratic Party made a net gain of 2 seats in the state senate.
