The2005 Kerry Senior Hurling Championship was the 104th staging of theKerry Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by theKerry County Board in 1889. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 4 April 2005. The championship ran from 5 August to 16 October 2005.
Kilmoyley entered the championship as thedefending champions , however, they were beaten byBallyduff in thequarter-finals .[ 1] [ 2]
Thefinal , a replay, was played on 16 October 2005 atAustin Stack Park inTralee , betweenLixnaw andAbbeydorney , in what was their third meeting in the final overall and a first final meeting in 51 years. Lixnaw won the match by 0–17 to 0–06 to claim their sixth championship title overall and a first title insix years .[ 3] [ 4]
Lixnaw'sMichael Conway was the championship'stop scorer with 3-26.
