The2005 Italian Open[2][3][4][5] (also known as the2005 Rome Masters[2][6][7] and the2005 Telecom Italia Masters[8] for sponsorship reason) was atennis tournament played onoutdoor clay courts. It was the 62nd edition of theItalian Open, and was part of theATP Masters Series of the2005 ATP Tour, and of theTier I Series of the2005 WTA Tour. Both the men's and the women's events took place at theForo Italico inRome,Italy.
