The2004 Missouri State Treasurer election was held on 2 November 2004 in order to elect thestate treasurer of Missouri.Republican nominee andincumbent member of theMissouri SenateSarah Steelman defeatedDemocratic nominee Mark Powell,Libertarian nominee Lisa J. Emerson andConstitution nominee Chris Fluharty.[1]
On election day, 2 November 2004,Republican nomineeSarah Steelman won the election by a margin of 128,280 votes against her foremost opponentDemocratic nominee Mark Powell, thereby gaining Republican control over the office of state treasurer. Steelman was sworn in as the 44thstate treasurer of Missouri on 10 January 2005.[2]
