The2001 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship was the 33rd annualNCAA Men's Water Polo Championship to determine the national champion ofNCAA men's collegiatewater polo. Tournament matches were played atAvery Aquatic Center inStanford, California during December 2001.[1]
Stanford defeatedUCLA in the final, 8–5, to win their ninth national title. The Cardinal (22–1) were coached byDante Dettamanti.
TheMost Outstanding Player of the tournament wasTony Azevedo from Stanford. Azevedo, along with six other players, comprised theAll-Tournament Team.
Kevin Witt, fromLoyola Marymount, was the tournament's leading scorer, with 6 goals.
