The2000 Texas Longhorns football team represented theUniversity of Texas at Austin as a member South Division of theBig 12 Conference during the2000 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by third-year head coachMack Brown, the Longhorns compiled an overall record of 9–3 with a mark of 7–1 in conference play, placing second in the Big 12's South Division. Texas was invited to theHoliday Bowl, where the Longhorns lost toOregon. The team played home games atDarrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium inAustin, Texas.

Texas's only conference loss came at the hands of theOklahoma Sooners, who went on to win thenational championship
