The2000 Taça de Portugal Final was the final match of the1999–2000 Taça de Portugal, the 59th season of theTaça de Portugal, the premier Portuguesefootball cup competition organized by thePortuguese Football Federation (FPF). The final was played at theEstádio Nacional inOeiras, and opposed two Primeira Liga sidesPorto andSporting CP. As the inaugural final match finished 1–1,[3][4] the final was replayed four days later at the same venue with theDragões defeating theLeões 2–0 to claim their tenth Taça de Portugal.[5]
InPortugal, the final was televised live onTVI.[6] As a result of Porto winning the Taça de Portugal, theDragões qualified for the2000 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira where they took on their cup opponents who won the1999–2000 Primeira Liga.[citation needed]
