The1999 Oregon State Beavers football team representedOregon State University as a member of thePacific-10 Conference (Pac-10) during the1999 NCAA Division I-A football season. Int heir first season under head coachDennis Erickson, the Beavers compiled an overall record of 7–5 with a mark of 4–4 in conference play, placing fifth in the Pac-10. It was the program's first winning season since1970.[1] The Beavers opened with three non-conference wins, lost the first three conference games, then won four straight, but fell in theCivil War atOregon.[1] Oregon State made its firstbowl game appearance since the1964 season,[2] but dropped theOahu Bowl by six points toHawaii onChristmas.[3][4][5] The team played home games atParker Stadium, previously known as Parker Stadium, inCorvallis, Oregon.

Hired in January, Erickson was previously the head coach of theSeattle Seahawks of theNational Football League (NFL) for four years, preceded by six seasons as the head football coach at theUniversity of Miami.[6][7][8] PredecessorMike Riley had left the Beavers after just two seasons for the NFL'sSan Diego Chargers, but then returned to Corvallis in February 2003.[9][10][11][12]
