It was the 15th edition of theMiami Masters and was part of theSuper 9 of the1999 ATP Tour and ofTier I of the1999 WTA Tour. Both the men's and women's events took place at theTennis Center at Crandon Park inKey Biscayne, Florida in the United States from March 15 through March 28, 1999.

  • It was Krajicek's 2nd title of the year and the 20th of his career. It was his 1st Super 9 title of the year and his 2nd overall.
