The1999–2000 Sheffield Shield season was the 98th season of theSheffield Shield, the domesticfirst-classcricket competition of Australia.Queensland won the championship.[1][2][3]

Naming

In November 1999, theAustralian Cricket Board (ACB) announced that the winner of the interstatefirst-class competition would be awarded the Pura Milk Cup, instead of the Sheffield Shield, under a sponsorship arrangement withNational Foods.[4][5][6]
