Elections to theHimachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held in 1998 to elect members of the 68 constituencies inHimachal Pradesh, India. TheIndian National Congress and theBharatiya Janata Party won an equal number of seats, but the BJP managed to form the government by allying with theHimachal Vikas Congress, andPrem Kumar Dhumal was appointed as theChief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.[1][2][3] The number of constituencies was set as 68 by the recommendation of theDelimitation Commission of India.[4]
