Led by seventh-year head coachPaul Pasqualoni, the Orangemen compiled an overall record of 9–4 with a mark of 6–1 in conference play, winning the Big East title. Syracuse was invited to theFiesta Bowl, where the Orangemen lost toKansas State. The team played home games at theCarrier Dome inSyracuse, New York.
