The1996 United States presidential election in Delaware took place on November 5, 1996, as part of the1996 United States presidential election. Voters chose three representatives, or electors to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.
Delaware was won byPresidentBill Clinton (D) over SenatorBob Dole (R-KS), with Clinton winning 51.78% to 36.54% by a margin of 15.24%. Billionaire businessmanRoss Perot (Reform Party of the United States of America-TX) finished in third, with 10.59% of the popular vote. As of the2024 presidential election[update], this is the last election in whichSussex County voted for the Democratic candidate, and the last time a presidential candidate won all three counties in the state.
