The team was coached byJack Leggett, who completed his third season at Clemson. The Tigers reached the1996 College World Series, their eighth appearance in Omaha.[2] They lost twice toMiami (FL), with wins againstOklahoma andAlabama, to finish with a 2–2 record in Omaha.
