The1995 Intercontinental Cup was anassociation football match played on 28 November 1995 betweenAjax, winners of the1994–95 UEFA Champions League, andGrêmio, winners of the1995 Copa Libertadores. The match was played at theNational Stadium inTokyo. It was Ajax's second appearance into the competition, after the victory in1972; moreover, Ajax declined to play in1971 and1973, being replaced byPanathinaikos andJuventus respectively. It was Grêmio's second appearance as well, after the victory in1983.
Danny Blind was named asman of the match.[1]
