The 1988–89 season was the 87th season in whichDundee competed at aScottish national level, playing in theScottish Premier Division.[1][2] Dundee would finish in 8th place. Dundee would also compete in both theScottish League Cup and theScottish Cup, where they were knocked out byRangers in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, and by inter-city rivalsDundee United in the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup.
