In their first season under head coachSpike Dykes, the Red Raiders compiled a 6–4–1 record (4–3–1 against SWC opponents), finished in fourth place in the conference, and outscored opponents by a combined total of 315 to 266.[1] The team played its home games atClifford B. and Audrey Jones Stadium inLubbock, Texas.
