The1987 NFL draft was the procedure by whichNational Football League teams selected amateurcollege football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. Thedraft was held April 28–29,1987, at theMarriot Marquis inNew York City,New York.[1][2] The league also held asupplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season.

With thefirst overall pick of the draft, theTampa Bay Buccaneers selected quarterbackVinny Testaverde.
